Acting very much like Assisting and Detracting Rolls, Analyzing or Preparation rolls allow a character to boost the success of their primary action by rolling a secondary action. A character may, especially when alone and in a tight spot, attempt to make sure that what they are doing will be successful. Much like aiming a gun, they may take a moment to address a situation mentally before acting. For example, a martial artist, when faced with a large and brutish opponent, may stop and take stock of the enemy before attacking, searching for a weakness or waiting for an opening. An archer or gunman may wait for a perfect shot, or a biologist may study a creature using his knowledge of veterinary biology to try to figure out where the heart is located.
An Analyzation or Preparation Roll will act as a bonus to the actual roll if the person making the roll does so on their turn and then waits a full round to perform the action. Only one such roll per action is permitted.
