There is a substance which, if you come within 20 feet of it, will cause your powers to weaken or fail outright. At 20 feet, all uses of your power are reduced by one rank. At 15, this penalty becomes -2. At ten, it becomes -3. At five feet, it become -4, and if it touches you your powers will not work at all.
